This VR experience is characterised by strongly focusing on learning elements abstraction. Although it does not care for hand movements or interactions fidelity, the training reproduces authentic procedures needed to carry out the work of oil & gas maintenance.
The interactivity, even simplified, ends up feeling comfortable, ignoring that certain processes rather than force the user to carry out them thoroughly.
The possibility of insert emergency events inside a simulation that teaches day-to-day work means that it’s a versatile learning tool sitting somewhere between babysitting the user and demmand him or her to decission making
Is this training useful? It covers in a very specific way the desireable learning workload. Without any doubts we’d like to see what else can the creators do as this experience show us some capabilities that aren’t covered on the demo.
